Classic “All American” Meatloaf

1Preheat oven to 350°F.

2Finely chop carrot , celery , onion , red bell pepper , and white mushrooms .carrot: 1, celery: 1 rib, onion: 1/2, red bell pepper: 1/2, white mushrooms: 4

3Mince garlic .garlic: 3 cloves

4In a large bowl , combine ground chuck (80% lean) , plain bread crumbs , egg , Worcestershire sauce , Italian herbs , olive oil , salt , black pepper , and cayenne pepper .ground chuck (80% lean): 40 oz, plain bread crumbs: 1 c, egg: 1, Worcestershire sauce: 1 tbl, Italian herbs: 1 tsp, olive oil: 2 tbl, salt: 2 tsp, black pepper: 1 tsp, cayenne pepper: 1/2 tsp

5Add the chopped carrot, celery, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and minced garlic to the bowl.

6Mix everything with your hands until just combined.

7Place the meatloaf mixture into a loaf pan .

8In a small bowl , combine brown sugar , ketchup , and Dijon mustard for the glaze.brown sugar: 2 tbl, ketchup: 2 tbl, Dijon mustard: 2 tbl

9Add hot sauce to taste to the glaze.hot sauce

10Spread the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.

11Bake for ⏱️ 1.5 hours , or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
